Q: How many missionaries are sent out by the Global Ministries Commission?

 

A. Currently we have 55 missionaries who are supported by the E.C. Church.

 

 

Q: Do all these missionaries serve directly under E.C. Global Ministries?

 

A: No, most of them are ‘seconded’ to work with nondenominational mission boards which focus on a particular type of ministry or part of the world. For example, Africa Inland Mission focuses on ministry in Africa, Missionary Maintenance Service focuses on plane maintenance, etc. We have about six E.C. missionaries who serve directly under the Global Ministries Commission, mostly in the USA.

 

 

Q: Do you have any foreign mission fields?

 

A.  The Global Ministries Commission oversees seven foreign mission conferences where E.C. churches have been established: Liberia, Japan, Northeast India, Nepal, Myanmar, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Northeast India is now its own National Conference, and supervises the work in Nepal and Myanmar, which resulted from their missionary efforts. 

 

 

Q: Are there any missionaries working in E.C. foreign mission fields?

 

A: No, all foreign mission conferences have national leadership. We do have E.C. missionaries serving on two foreign fields where we do not have E.C. churches: Jane Heck who serves in Belize, and Brad and Maxine Waldman, who serve in the Caribbean.

 

 

Q:  How do I make contact with a missionary?

 

A:  Missionary names, addresses, e mail addresses, and phone numbers (where available) are all found in the GMC Missions Directory. Due to matters of security, some of our missionaries do not want to have all their information posted on a website. You can call the Global Ministries Office for information if it isn’t posted, or if the missionary is relocated due to home assignment.

 

 

Q:  How do I find out if a missionary is coming back to the USA for home assignment?

 

A:  This information will be posted on our website, listed in our publications (see EC Scene,) or you can call the Global Ministries Office at 1-717-866-7584       .

 

 

Q: How would I arrange to have a missionary speak at my church?

 

A:  Contact Pat Strain at the Global Ministries Office. Pat handles scheduling for most of our missionaries ( a few handle their own.) She can be contacted at 1-717-866-7584 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. You can also email to pstrain@eccenter.com.
