:: Who We Are

The Global Ministries Commission represents the international arm of the Evangelical Congregational Church.  Over the past few decades we have grown to incorporate numerous avenues of ministry throughout the world by Empowering National Churches, Facilitating Mission Workers, Ministering to the World’s Marginalized and reminding our members of their call to be World Christians.

Empowering National Churches

Due, in part, to the encouragement shown by the members of our EC Church USA , we have witnessed explosive growth in many of our international ministry fields.  God has blessed us as the EC Church USA by raising up 70,000 EC'ers who speak a language other than English!  Those seventy-thousand worship in 460 churches spread across these seven nations:

Costa Rica

India

Japan

Liberia

Mexico

Myanmar (Burma)

Nepal

All of our international churches are facilitated by indigenous leadership and the EC Church USA works diligently to see these churches deepen within their own cultural contexts and to foster ministry from those nations to the peoples of the world.

Facilitating Mission Workers

We currently assist 55 workers ministering in 20 different nations.  The E.C. Church is unique in that it loans nearly all of its workers to other mission agencies.  This is a releasing approach that increases the level of specialization our workers can operate with and recognizes the role of partnerships in the furthering of the Gospel.

Ministering to the Marginalized

With nearly half of the world’s population living at or below the poverty level, we as the EC Church recognize that we must be involved with meeting the physical as well as the spiritual needs around the globe.

Creating World Christians

Christianity is expanding rapidly around the globe.  It may be hard to see from where you are now but the Global Ministries Office is dedicated to keeping you aware of these miraculous movements of God. We exist to help you become World Christians.
